From January as well as being a Community Interest Company, we will move into a fantastic new course room with much more space and lots of light at the Winchester Project in Swiss Cottage.
The building is located at 21 Winchester Road diagonally across from Swiss Cottage Library and Sports Centre. As before we will be at the entrance for drop-of and pick-up but there is a very secure and brilliant buzzer system so that late-coming students can buzz themselves directly into the course room on the 2nd floor!
After our hugely successful and enjoyable trial run on Fridays (thank you ladies – we are having such fun!), we have decided to generally open all sessions to interested parents as well. So if you are interested in sharing a hobby with your child you can work together or choose your own projects, sit next to your child or at the other end of the course room…
As we are now having the luxury of more space we can also offer three booking options – you can choose between 4-5; 4-6 or 5-7pm!!!
The Spring term is full of exciting projects and ideas! ‘Design your own muscle shirt’, a ‘Princess seam dress’ ‘Jodhpurs shorts with braces’ , the ‘POSH COAT’ and our special ‘Bell sleeved top’ are the 5 new designs for the first half of the term. Our advanced girls have chosen their commercial patterns for the spring. Next term will be all about fabrics – with tutorials about learning how to choose the right fabrics for the right project, using patterned fabric, cutting and manipulating fabric etc. . By January we will know whether we are given another chance to design for the London Fashion Week with most likely a more contemporary theme! We are also planning to bring out a termly newsletter for the Little Hands community.

DESIGN COURSE: Be a HANDBAG designer!
(age 7 up-wards) Mad about bags? Come and learn how to design your favourite bag. Learn the tricks of the trade and find out how to sketch and illustrate your designs. You will then construct your very own pattern for your bag. The course is packed with hands-on exercises such as label-making, 2D-3D folding practice as well as a bag-charm session. Half-day students will complete their project with a finished sketch-and-design book including full size pattern. Full day girls will be able to continue and make their very own ‘Designer’ bag. There will be a competition for the best design!!!
CLOTHES MAKING COURSE: Fashion Bonanza
(age 8 up-wards and separate group 6-8 yrs) Packed with exciting projects such as the 'Design your own muscel shirt', 'jodhpurs with braces', the really easy 'Gillet', our fantastic 'Posh Coat' and much more. Look forward to our Textile Craft workshops and the Needlebook competition!
